March 2008 - Stepps announces 2008 reunion date!
Stepps’ 2008 reunion will take place on Saturday 17th May and is expected to welcome up to 100 past and present clients and family members. This popular annual event is a focal date in the calendar for those who have been helped by the Minsterworth-based rehabilitation centre in the process of addiction recovery.
“Our reunion provides ex-peers with the opportunity to meet up with old friends and reflect on their experiences before, during and after their time with us,” explains Dominic Quinlan, Director of Stepps. “One of our key messages to clients is that, following residential treatment, we don’t just say goodbye and wish them luck; we move to the next stage in their recovery and work with the client to create a personalised ‘life plan’. This gives people every chance of staying on track once they have returned to everyday life. We also run specialised workshops and relapse prevention sessions as part of our free 12-month aftercare service for clients who have completed their residential treatment.”
“From previous reunions we have seen how much clients enjoy and benefit from the chance to interact with others who have been in a similar situation. It is of course also invaluable and motivating for current clients to mingle with those who have successfully been through recovery and are now living healthy, happy lives.”
The reunion will be a full day event with barbeque lunch and guest speaker.
